The City of Dallas is suing Tulsa based Explorer Pipeline for a pipe that ruptured last spring. The break spilled 500-thousand gallons of gasoline, and additives into a lake that provides drinking water to 30 percent of Dallas residents.
In the lawsuit, Dallas says Explorer has 'dragged it's feet' in reimbursing the city. In a written response, the company said, "We believe the city of Dallas is wrong to file this lawsuit. Since July, we have been trying to resolve spill-related expenses claimed by Dallas, including invoices that were marked up 60%"
Restitution is estimated at more than $13,000,000.
