(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Oklahoma Senator Don Nickles is calling on his colleagues to be ``more senatorial'' after being re-elected to his Republican leadership position.

Nickles will again serve as majority whip to Senate majority leader Trent Lott.

Nickles says the last few sessions of Congress have been too partisan, and says some senators treat their jobs as an extension of the presidential campaign.

Nickles duties have included leading G-O-P negotiations on health care reform and determining Republican support for pending legislation.

South Dakota Senator Tom Daschle was re-elected by Democratic senators as the minority leader.
