(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Tom Selleck says he would feel naked if he weren't doing western films.

The actor was the guest of honor tonight at the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum. His latest movie, Louis L'Amour's Crossfire Trail, is the story of a restless wanderer bound by a promise of a dying friend.

The film debuts on Turner Network Television January 21.

Selleck says he grew up wishing he lived on a ranch. He watched Jimmy Stewart and Henry Fonda movies and hoped one day he could be in a cowboy movie.

Selleck also plans to narrate a new film for the museum's theater.
