JAY, Okla. (AP) _ A Delaware County woman voted twice in the August primary election and a second woman voted even though she is a convicted felon, officials said this week.

Betty Davis, 47, of Colcord and Alice Ward, 47, of Eucha are charged with felony illegal voting. Neither has been arrested.

Davis voted twice _ once by absentee ballot Aug. 17 and again in person Aug. 22, said Earlene Bradford, secretary of the Delaware County Election Board. She voted in Precinct 20 in the Kenwood community west of Jay in northeast Oklahoma.

Ward voted even though her voting registration was canceled in April because of a felony conviction.

Illegal voting in Oklahoma is punishable by up to two years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.

Bradford said she notified the district attorney's office about the voting problems with Davis and Ward, as well as alleged voting irregularities by another couple. The secretary said the couple voted by absentee ballots, but their signatures did not match their permanent registration.

The district attorney's office has not filed charges against the couple.
