(Tulsa-AP) -- Markius Barnes scored 24 points to lead Oral Roberts past Nebraska 87-to-83 tonight in the season-opener for both teams.

Four Golden Eagle players scored in double figures. Nebraska's Cookie Belcher led all scorers with 27 points. Steffon Bradford added 26 points and 14 rebounds for Nebraska.

Belcher scored 15 points in the final nine minutes as the Cornhuskers tried to stay with the Golden Eagles. O-R-U led by as many as seven with four minutes to play.

Nebraska got as close as two in the final seconds. But Evan Black nailed four free throws in the final 12 seconds to seal the win for O-R-U.

O-R-U sophomore Josh Atkinson finished with a career-high 19 points. Australian freshman Luke Spencer-Gardner hit four three-pointers and scored 19 for O-R-U.
