(Tulsa, Oklahoma-AP) -- Kevin Johnson scored a career-high 24 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead Tulsa to an 89-to-71 victory over North Texas tonight.

Tulsa trailed 6-to-4 at the beginning, but then went on a 21-to-0 run.

The Golden Hurricane's advantage crested at 39-to-14 with just more than three minutes left in the first half. North Texas never got closer than 14 points.

Marcus Hill scored 15 points, had eight rebounds and eight assists for Tulsa.

Jason Miller scored 13 points and had nine rebounds for the Mean Green. North Texas had 21 turnovers -- 18 of which were in the first half.
