MILWAUKEE (AP) — The BoDeans rock music group claims a Boston brewery is way off-key with its malt products of the same name.
Band members Kurt Neumann, Samuel Llanas, and Robert Griffin filed suit this week against the Boston Beer Co., brewers of BoDean's, BoDean's Twisted Tea and BoDean's Twisted Lemon Tea, a malt-based beverage designed to appeal to people who don't like beer.
The lawsuit seeks to stop the company from capitalizing on the band's name or doing anything to give the impression that the drinks and band are connected.
``One ad includes a representation of guitars hanging on defendant's BoDean's malt liquor bottles,'' the lawsuit said.
The Milwaukee-based band seeks unspecified monetary damages.
``We do not believe BoDean's Twisted Tea is causing confusion with anyone else's business or product,'' said Michelle Sullivan, a Boston Beer spokeswoman.
