(Tulsa-AP) -- Tulsa Country Club will the site of an L-P-G-A tour event next September, according to a tour official.

Tour commissioner Ty Votaw is expected to officially announce the event at a press conference in Tulsa next week.

The tournament will be sponsored by Williams, a Tulsa-based telecommunications company, and is to be played on September Seventh through Ninth next year.

This would be the first women's professional tour event in Oklahoma since 1983 when Jan Stephenson won the U-S Open at Cedar Ridge in Tulsa.

This would be the first regular tour stop in the state since Muskogee Country Club hosted tournaments from 1962 through 1965.
