TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) _ Arizona, expected to be one of the nation's top college basketball teams, was the unanimous choice to win the Pac-10 Conference this season.
Arizona, the league's defending champion, received all 29 first-place votes Wednesday in balloting by sports writers, totaling 290 points. Stanford finished second with 255 points.
``With us returning everyone and Stanford having lost a couple of guys, I guess it's not unexpected,'' coach Lute Olson said. ``But being picked to win something and winning it is another thing.''
Southern California, which returns all five starters, finished third with 206 points, one point ahead of UCLA. The Bruins return three players from the team that advanced to the round of 16 of the NCAA tournament.
