(Poteau-AP) -- A group of LeFlore County residents is asking District Attorney Rob Wallace to investigate possible voter fraud in the September runoff election for county sheriff.

Wallace says the group brought in a stack of petitions.

He says the petitions allege the county election board made mistakes, nonparty members and convicted felons voted in the runoff and the names of dead people were used to case votes.

Wallace says he will forward the petitions to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation.

O-S-B-I spokeswoman Kym Koch (KIM COOK) says the agency will review Wallace's request and decide whether to pursue an investigation.

In the September 19th runoff election, incumbent Kendall Ballew was re-elected by one vote over challenger Roy Gentry. Gentry challenged those results and came out the winner by one vote in a recount held the following week.
