NORRISTOWN, Pa. (AP) — A model is suing Philadelphia magazine, saying it invaded her privacy by publishing a photograph of her reclining in the nude as part of a secret ``sex and sales'' plan to increase circulation.
Angela Izzo accuses the magazine of deceptively obtaining the photograph and printing it without permission, according to the suit filed Wednesday in Montgomery County Common Pleas Court.
Her lawsuit said she was ``shocked, humiliated and mortified'' when the photo appeared in the February issue of the magazine, which is geared toward affluent readers.
Izzo said she disrobed for the shot but was assured that a towel would provide some cover. She said she was tricked into lowering her arms to her sides, exposing her breasts.
Izzo is seeking more than $1 million in punitive damages, and wants a public apology and retraction printed.
Attorneys for the magazine's parent company, Metrocorp, denied that the photo was part of a ``secret sex and sales plan'' to increase circulation, the Philadelphia Daily News reported Monday.
They said Izzo willingly posed for the photos.
