Cynthia Hess, of Okmulgee, and Joel Kinnamon, of Oklahoma City, are the new Provosts of the Tulsa Community College (TCC) Northeast and Southeast Campuses, respectively.
Hess, former Dean of Instruction at TCC West Campus and former Communication and Liberal Arts Division Chair at TCC Southeast Campus, is a former instructor and assistant department head at Oklahoma State University (OSU)-Okmulgee. She taught language arts for ten years in Jenks Public Schools, including three years in an interdisciplinary, computer-based project funded by the National Science Foundation.
At TCC, in addition to her duties as Provost, Hess chairs the Academy for Teaching Excellence Task Force, serves on the Distance Learning and Instructional Development Oversight Team, and was on the North Central Accreditation Self-Study Steering Committee.
Hess has three degrees from OSU, a Bachelor of Arts in English, Master of Science in Curriculum and Instruction, and Doctor of Education in Higher Education Management.
She is a graduate of Leadership Tulsa and works with Hospice of Green Country and Tulsa Global Alliance.
Kinnamon spent eleven years at Oklahoma City Community College, where he was Academic Dean, Business Department Chair, Professor of Management, and Director of Budget Systems and Management Services. He also has been a business analyst or commodity broker for American Express and Dun and Bradstreet.
Kinnamon has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Economic and Business Marketing from OSU, a Master of Business Administration Degree from Oklahoma City University, and a Doctor of Education Degree in Higher Education Management from Nova Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL.
He is a member of the National Association of Auxiliary Services and the Oklahoma and National Associations of College and University Business Officers.
