(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A Norman man who hopes to become the first pilot to circle the globe in an open-cockpit plane will be going back in time.

Robert Ragozzino is to leave Russia at six this evening and he plans to cross the international date line four hours later.

It'll actually be Wednesday in Russia when he takes off. When he lands six hours later on an island along the Aleutian chain near Alaska, it'll be Tuesday again.

Ragozzino left Oklahoma City on June First in his modified 1942 Stearman.

After a night on the island, he plans to fly to Anchorage, Alaska. He's also to stop in Seattle, Salt Lake City and Denver before returning to Oklahoma City.
