TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- A Tulsa school teacher was suspended with pay on Monday following her weekend arrest on a complaint of distributing methamphetamine.

Mary G. Fox, 42, was one of nine people taken into custody early Saturday during an undercover sting, Officer Lucky Lamons said.

Fox was arrested on complaints of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute and possession of a controlled drug, Lamons said.

Fox taught special education at Gilcrease Intermediate School, officials said. She worked at the school for two years, school records show.

John Hamill, Tulsa Public Schools spokesman, said school officials found out about the arrest Monday. The suspension with pay takes effect Tuesday, he said.

Police received information from a confidential informant that methamphetamine was being sold at the residence, which is not Fox's house, Lamons said.

An undercover officer bought $100 worth of methamphetamine from someone other than Fox, Lamons said. After money was exchanged, the officer signaled for other officers to enter.

Fox was arrested on a complaint of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute because she was in the area where the drugs were being prepared for sale, he said.

Police found track marks from suspected drug use on Fox's arms, Lamons said police reports indicated.
