Dorothy Prottroff, the subject of the search by Osage County authorities.

Osage County authorities are searching for Dorothy Prottroff. She has been missing since 8:00 am Thursday. Prottroff, 49, is described by the sheriffâ€™s office as a white female, 5â€™6â€, 100 lbs., with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black and white checkered â€œMizunoâ€ windbreaker, a tee shirt, blue jeans, black boots, and was carrying a black purse.

Prottroff was last seen in the Fairfax area at 8:00 am Thursday. She was walking possibly to her father Archieâ€™s residence in Amarillo, Texas. She has a history of mental illness. A joint search is being conducted by the Osage County Sheriffâ€™s Office, the Bartlesville Police Department, the Fairfax Police Department and numerous volunteers.
