A viewer had a question about some charges on her local telephone bill. She says the Federal Customer Line Charge went up from $3.50 to $4.35. She called her phone company, but says they couldn't tell her why the charge was different. Consumer 6 called the Federal Communications Commission, and a spokesperson says they recently combined two federal charges into one lower charge.

The previous charges were called the Federal Subscriber Line and Interexchange Carrier Charge. It’s now combined into the Federal Customer Line Charge. The F-C-C says consumers are actually saving money
