Alabama (1-3) at Arkansas (3-0)
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) _ Robby Hampton threw a 9-yard touchdown pass to Marcellus Poydras with 64 seconds to play as Arkansas beat Alabama 28-21 Saturday night.

Third-team tailback Alvin Ray, in the game because of injuries to Cedric Cobbs and Fred Talley, put Arkansas (3-0, 1-0 SEC) in position when he ran 32 yards up the middle to the Alabama 15. Prior to that, Alabama (1-3, 1-1 SEC) was flagged for defensive holding after Hampton threw incomplete on fourth-and-7.

Alabama's Tyler Watts threw an 18-yard touchdown pass to Jason McAddley in the third quarter to break a 14-14 halftime tie.

For the second straight week, the Razorbacks made big mistakes in the kicking game. Arkansas' Matt Swartz never got a chance to kick for a 21-21 tie because of a high snap. Alabama also blocked a field goal attempt and a punt and recovered a punt that bounced off the Razorbacks' George Wilson.

Watts' pass to McAddley completed a 68-yard drive that included a 31-yard completion to Terry Jones Jr.

Cedric Cobbs' 10-yard run made it 21-20, but Matt Burstein couldn't get the high snap in position for Swartz' extra point attempt. Cobbs, who had 18 carries for 59 yards, left the game with a possible shoulder separation. Talley was already sidelined with a possible broken hand so Ray was in on the last couple of possessions.

The holding penalty against Alabama gave Arkansas a first down at the Razorback 48. On third-and-5, Ray hit inside and almost scored.

Hampton's touchdown pass came on third down and barely carried over the fingertips of Kecalf Bailey.

Arkansas had the first opportunity to score in the second half, but Victor Ellis blocked Matt Swartz' 36-yard field goal. The Razorbacks had to attempt the field goal because Richard Smith cut his pass route short and his reception was worth 4 yards on third-and-5.

Watts' short pass to Jones netted a big gain when Jones stepped over safety Ken Hamlin and bounced off cornerback Eddie jackson. Freddie Milons' 13-yard run on a reverse helped offset a penalty and Watts made 3 on third-and-2.

From the 18, Watts faked inside, rolled right and found McAddley running through the end zone.

Arkansas came right back, driving 80 yards in eight plays. Hampton found a wide-open George Wilson for 20 yards and a pass to Adam Daily was good for 16 more when Daily bowled over one defender and Boo Williams blocked another.

Cobbs scored from the 10, breaking a tackle at the 5.
