(Oklahoma City-AP) -- Regardless of who his team has played, Oklahoma State coach Bob Simmons is pleased the Cowboys are 2 and 0 But few people would argue that the Cowboys played less than inspired football against a Division One-double-A team last weekend. Oklahoma State beat Southwest Texas State 23-to-nothing.

The defense allowed just 141 yards, but Southwest Texas State was playing without its top two running backs.

Simmons says poor decisions and poor execution get the blame for a lackluster offensive performance.

But he says he believes the mistakes can be eliminated.

The Cowboys are now readying to host Number 22 Southern Mississippi. Southern Miss will come to Stillwater after whipping Alabama 21-to-nothing.
