The McIntosh County Sheriff is asking for the public’s help in finding a black elderly man who has been missing since August 14th. Authorities now suspect foul play maybe involved in the disappearance of Sylvester "Buddy" Murdock. Murdock, said to be in his 80’s, lives in the Red Hill area west of Eufaula.

McIntosh County Sheriff Bobby Gray says Murdock's son expressed concern to his office two weeks ago that he could not get in touch with his father. Deputies from the sheriff's office checked out Murdock's home and found nothing unusual. It was presumed that he had just left for a few days and didn't tell anyone. A few days later, neighbors also checked on Murdock and found no one at the house. Gray says Murdock usually keeps his son and neighbors informed as to his whereabouts.

Murdock had foot problems, so it is believed he couldn’t have walked very far. Sheriff’s deputies searched around Murdock’s rural home and found nothing. Sheriff Gray tells the News on Six that his office has questioned one individual and are looking for a second person to question. At the present time, authorities have no suspects in the case, they just want to talk with witnesses.

Anyone with information about Murdock should call the McIntosh County Sheriff's Office at (918) 689-2526.
