TULSA, Okla.-Will Hunt, quarterback for the Bulldogs of Springdale, Ark., ranked No. 2 in their state, passed for one score and ran for another as the Arkansans topped Tulsa's Bishop Kelly 19-7 Friday night.
Hunt got Springdale (1-0) on the scoreboard first with a 22-yard pass to Bo Wilkins in the first quarter.
The Comets (0-1), ranked third in Oklahoma in Class 5A, got their only score from Jake Murrell on a 9-yard run in the first period to go up 7-6. Murrell finished with 99 yards rushing on 25 carries, but the rest of the Bishop Kelly offense amounted to only 39 yards.
A 7-yard keeper by Hunt put the Bulldogs back on top in the second period. Mike Fears finished the scoring with a 9-yard run for Springdale in the fourth quarter.
