Here's a moneysaving tip for college students. With the Fall semester just around the corner, many students are back on campus, and many are buying books. Before buying new ones, you can do some comparison shopping online. addall.com and dealtime.com are some of the websites that offer books for a bargain.

Two recent recalls involve children's products. Kinderkids is recalling about 18,000 inflatable play rings for babies. When a baby leans his or her face against the side, the soft surface can cover the nose and mouth causing suffocation. The company received one report of a problem involving a baby, who was not injured. The company sold the toys between July 1998 and August 2000 and were priced at $20. Call 888-433-6251 for information.

The Children's Place is recalling 120,000 boys baseball shirts and rompers. The buttons can come off and may choke a child. No injuries have been reported. Parents can return the clothes to any Children's Place Store for a full refund and a 10 percent discount.

For the third straight year, some H-M-Os are canceling Medicare, forcing about 700,000 people to find new health care providers. If you receive a letter from your H-M-O between now and October 2nd that says it's dropping Medicare, keep the letter. It's the guarantee that you'll get new coverage. The letter will also explain other alternatives. You must enroll before December 31st to ensure your coverage.
