HOUSTON (AP) — An ambulance driver was fired after being accused of stopping for doughnuts while taking a patient to the hospital.
Larry A. Wesley, a 20-year ambulance driver, was dismissed Monday by Fire Chief Lester Tyra.
The incident occurred July 10 while Wesley, 49, was taking a boy to the hospital with a leg injury. The injury was not life-threatening.
The boy's mother filed a complaint.
The chief would not comment on the firing.
Wesley could not be reached for comment Tuesday. Calls to a telephone listing for L. Wesley went unanswered.
