SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — An intoxicated passenger struck a flight attendant and other passengers after he was refused alcoholic drinks on board an Air France flight from Paris, the FBI said.
Peter I. Budavari, 34, was taken into custody by FBI agents and police shortly after the plane landed Wednesday in San Francisco. Budavari, a Hungarian national, was unconscious when the plane landed and was taken to a hospital. He was released from the county lockup Thursday on bail.
The FBI said Budavari appeared intoxicated and belligerent shortly after takeoff.
He repeatedly punched the back of the seat in front of him, and struck a male flight attendant and passengers who tried to calm him, the FBI said. He was then restrained in his seat by flight crew members.
