(Jenks-AP) -- The Friends of Felines in Jenks could soon be homeless.

The Friends of Felines is a nonprofit organization founded in 1991 to save homeless and abandoned cats in the Tulsa area. It has used an old trailer in the Shady Acres Mobile Home Park for the past three years. But the organization and about 150 other residents of the mobile home park were told they had until the end of this month to move.

Jarry Jones is the park's owner. He has told tenants he is closing the park rather than make improvements mandated by the city and the state Health Department.

Leslie Meyers is one of the volunteers at the rescue operation. She says many volunteers have already taken cats in themselves. She says the group hopes to find foster homes or veterinarians that will board the animals until the organization can find a new location.
