Wednesday has been declared an Ozone Alert! Day for the entire Tulsa metropolitian area. This makes the second day in a row that Tulsans have been asked to carpool to work and wait until evening to mow their lawns.

On Tuesday, the Tulsa air quality site recorded a 108 which is the third time Tulsa has exceeded the air quality standards this year.

To cut down on the production of ozone in the air, follow these suggestions from the Oklahoma Department of Enviromental Quality.

Avoid driving - Ride the bus free on Ozone Alert! days. For short trips, ride a bike or walk.

If you must drive: carpool - share a ride. Take your lunch to work. Combine trips and limit unnecessary trips. Drive during off-peak hours and avoid idle times. Drive your newest vehicle. Refuel in the evening and avoid spilling gas. Keep your vehicle well tuned.

Avoid using gas powered lawn equipment such as lawn mowers and weed trimmers.
