(Tulsa-AP) -- Federal prosecutors have alleged that a former funeral home bookkeeper embezzled nearly half of a million dollars from his former employer. Prosecutors have charged 44-year-old Russell Alan Guiou by means of an information. Cases charged in that manner -- as opposed to indictments -- usually result in guilty pleas.

The information alleges that Guiou forged more than $371,000 worth of funeral service checks while working fo rFitzgerald-Arnold Moore Funeral Service. He allegedly put the mone yinto bank accounts he controlled and often altered his employers' financial records.

The charge also alleges that Guiou additionally embezzled more than $111,000 in checks made payable to Fitzgerald's. An arraignment has been scheduled for August 15th. Guiou's attorney said Thursday his client will plead guilty.
