(Wichita Falls-AP) -- Here are some notes today from Dallas Cowboys training camp in Wichita Falls:
ƒÞ All-Pro offensive lineman Larry Allen broke a bone in his right hand and will be out about three weeks, although he's hoping to be back in two. Surgery isn't likely to be needed. With Allen hurt and Erik Williams yet to report to camp while deciding whether to retire, the Cowboys will be able to give extended playing time to backups. Coach Dave Campo says the down side is that the Cowboys they can get overextended. Jorge Diaz and Tony Hutson are playing right guard while starter Solomon Page takes Williams' place at right tackle. Kelvin Garmon is seeing most of the action at Allen's left guard spot. ƒÞ -- The emphasis on improving tempo at Cowboys camp is paying off. Plays are going off at more than one per minute, enabling coaches to add more in each ten-minute block -- and still finish early. This morning's workout was cut short by more than ten minutes.
