NEW YORK (AP) — Roger ``Dutch'' Ouderkirk, an assistant football coach for 12 years and later equipment manager at St. John's, died Tuesday after a brief illness. He was 75.

He joined St. John's in 1978, serving as the football team's offensive backfield coach and then offensive coordinator until 1990, when he became the university's equipment manager.

Ouderkirk, who coached high school football on Long Island and also was an assistant at Temple and Kings Point, was inducted into the St. John's Athletic Hall of Fame two years ago.

He is survived by his wife, Daphne, three daughters and a stepson.

A memorial service will be held Friday morning at Gleason's Funeral Home in Flushing.
