(Tulsa-AP) -- Governor Keating says he won't resign if he's selected as George W- Bush's vice presidential running mate. Keating says the presidential campaign is a three-month process and that other candidates like Al Gore and Bush won't resign their posts.
The governor says discussion about his possible resignation is premature. He says Bush hasn't called him and he doesn't expect anything to happen. Even if he is called to Washington, Keating says the state will be in the capable hands of Lieutenant Governor Mary Fallin. Keating was in Tulsa to conduct a town-hall meeting and to visit two Tulsa businesses.
