Three Suspects in Muskogee Murder Captured

Authorities have arrested three suspects in the murder of a Muskogee woman. 18-year-old Dwayne Johnson, 20-year-old Cory Smith, and 28-year-old Lonnie Murphy III are being held in the Muskogee County Detention Center.

The womanâ€™s body was found in the 1600 block of West Broadway in Muskogee late Tuesday night. The victimâ€™s 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe was missing from the residence.

Officers said that the three men were driving the victim's truck when they were spotted. They arrested one suspect, but the others ran away. The other two were apprehended after a brief search. Officers recovered one weapon, but are still searching for another.

Police say at this point of the investigation, they think the woman was killed for her vehicle. Investigators have not released the victim's name.
