Increasing production from Middle Eastern countries is translating into lower gas prices stateside. That's the word from AAA this week.
Most of the larger chain gas stations have dropped prices in the Tulsa area below $1.40. Most Texaco, Phillips 66 and QuikTrip stations are at $1.39 this weekend.
Albertson's comes in a bit cheaper at $1.37. Both the Sinclair at 18th and Boston and The Stop Inn at 5th and Utica are selling gasoline for $1.35.
Batmans Texaco at the corner of Pine and Mingo lowered prices to $1.34, prompting the QuikTrip across the street to follow suit. Batmans' owner sasy his neighbor drops its price almost every time he does.
The lowest price in town is the Flying J at 129th and Admiral, at $1.31.
York's One-stop in Muskogee is selling for $1.35. The E-Z Mart in Talequah has priced gas at $1.32. Larry's Quick Stop in Adair is the same price.
AAA says they expect prices to stay down at this level if production continues near the same pace.
