(Tulsa-AP) -- A Texas prisoner will stand trial in Oklahoma for a 1999 Tulsa killing.

Paul Dwight Thompson was ordered yesterday to stand trial for the April 1999 murder of William Bradley Douglas. Thompson is currently in prison in Texas for a robbery conviction.

A witness testified at a preliminary hearing yesterday that Thompson shot Douglas when Douglas refused to give him drugs.

Thompson was transported to the Tulsa Jail in May.

It is expected that his murder trial will be placed on the fast track .Prosecutors say they anticipate beginning the trial in early September.
