Homeless veterans in Tulsa got a helping hand Saturday.

A bunch of businesses and hospitals got together to hold the second annual "stand down."

That's where they give free medical screenings, job placements and more to homeless vets.

Supporters say it gives vets a better chance of making it on the streets.

"They're glad we're here. They are getting dealings with the VA medical system and regional system that they don't normally get because there is not an office here in Tulsa," says David Cauthron, Co-Chair of the event.

27-percent of all the homeless people in the country are American veterans.

All items and services were paid for solely through donated items and services.
