(Oklahoma City-AP) -- With gas prices skyrocketing, here are some tips from American Automobile Association of Oklahoma on ways that drivers can save fuel.
-- First of all, consolidate trips and errands to cut down on driving time.
-- Slow down. Faster speeds burn more fuel.
-- Avoid quick starts and stops.
-- If you own more than one car, use the more energy-efficient one as often as possible.
-- Use the air conditioner only when needed.
-- Don't use premium gas unless it is specifically required for your vehicle.
-- Keep your vehicle properly maintained with the proper inflation in tires.
-- Lighten the load. A heavier vehicle uses more gasoline.
-- Comparison shop by telephone before driving all over town.
