(Tulsa-AP) -- Pro basketball star John Starks is teeing off Sunday to help his alma mater -- Tulsa Central High School.
Starks already made a large contribution to the construction of a fitness and athletic training center at the school. Now he will participate in a celebrity golf tournament at Battle Creek Golf Club in Broken Arrow to benefit the school.
Proceeds will be used toward purchase of outdoor athletic bleachers for Tulsa Central.
Starks has also contributed several autographed sports memorabilia items for a silent auction, including a New York Knicks jersey and a basketball autographed by Charles Barkley and Michael Jordan.
Starks is a ten-handicap golfer who says he feels honored to play for the school.
