(Oklahoma City-AP) -- The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information in the murder of a Beckham County cattleman.
The reward is for information leading to the arrest or conviction of whoever is responsible for the shooting death of 55-year-old Donald Carkin.
Carkin was last seen around 7:30 a-m on May 8th at a fast-food restaurant in Sayre. One hour later, he was found dead in his pickup truck a mile and a half west of the town of Delhi, which is south of Sayre.
O-S-B-I spokeswoman Kym Koch says Carkin apparently was shot while he was driving, drove off the road into a field and bled to death.
Koch says investigators hope the reward encourages anyone who might have seen something to call in.
The Beckham County Sheriff's Office can be reached at 580-928-2121.
The O-S-B-I's number in 800-522-8017.
