An Oklahoma man was among more than 30 members of an outlaw California motorcycle gang arrested in a three-state sweep by
federal authorities.

Richard Deeter Sr., 51, was arrested Friday in Owasso on complaints of possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm in the commission of a felony and possession of marijuana.

Deeter was being held at the Tulsa Jail.

U.S. Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms agents, armed with search warrants and assisted by local authorities, raided clubhouses in
Oklahoma, California and Georgia of a gang called the Mongols.

Authorities said 29 were arrested in California alone.

The raids came after an ATF agent infiltrated the gang and spent two years as a member.

Members of the Mongols have been accused of extortion, arson, weapons violations, drug dealing and murder, said Jeff Cochran, ATF
resident agent in charge in Oklahoma.

At least three of those arrested Friday were charged with murder, ATF spokesman John D'Angelo said.

Most of those arrested were charged with narcotics or firearms violations, D'Angelo added.

Authorities described the Mongols as among the most violent of the outlaw motorcycle gangs.

The gang was formed in the early 1970s in Southern California.

Authorities said the organization has about 200 members and 21 chapters nationwide.
