(Stillwater-AP) -- Oklahoma State coach Bob Simmons has named Mike Summers to coach tight ends and serve as recruiting coordinator for the Cowboys.

Summers is a 17-year coaching veteran and has been offensive coordinator at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee, since 1997.

Summers was previously at Oregon State, Northern Illinois, Texas A-and-M and Kentucky.

Simmons says Summers is highly qualified and has been successful throughout his career.

Simmons also says Summers is also a proven recruiter.
