(Norman-AP) -- The Oklahoma Sooners may have not won the Big 12 softball tournament, but they won big yesterday.

The team was named as host of one of eight N-C-A-A regionals. O-U coach Patty Gasso says the team gets a home-field advantage and the top seed. She says they couldn't ask for anything better.

Oklahoma is 58 and 8.

The Sooners play their first game against Harvard on Thursday.

While the Sooners are still playing, Oklahoma State is done for the season. The Cowgirls weren't invited to the post-season play. The team lost seven of its last eight games.
