(Huntsville, Texas-AP) -- After 14 years on death row, convicted murderer William Kitchens says he's looking forward to his execution set for this evening.
He says it'll release him from the daily punishment of prison life he's had since he was sent to death row.
He was sent there for beating, raping, strangling and shooting 25-year-old Patricia Webb of Abilene in 1986. An autopsy says she had been shot through the eye at close range with a .22-caliber pistol.
The 37-year-old condemned murderer from Blanchard, Oklahoma, has asked his attorneys to file no more appeals. That was after the Fifth U-S Circuit Court of Appeals rejected his appeal last September.
He would be the 14th condemned killer to be executed in Texas this year and the second of seven scheduled to die this month. Another execution is set for Thursday evening.
