TULSA, Okla. (AP) -- Three Tulsa police officers were suspended without pay after falsifying a report, Chief Ronald Palmer
announced Monday.

The 45-day suspensions begun Sunday for officers Dan Fuller, Kevin Staats and Dan Tedrick followed the Feb. 19 arrest of a Tulsa
County man about a mile outside Tulsa city limits.

"Tulsa police officers cannot make arrests outside their jurisdictions," Sgt. Wayne Allen said. "Instead of making it right, they falsified reports."

Discrepancies were found in the officers' reports, and Palmer ordered an Internal Affairs investigation.

Fuller, a 10-year veteran, was demoted from corporal to officer in addition to the suspension.

He was cited along with Staats, an 18-year veteran, and Tedrick, an 11-year veteran, for breaking department policy and failing to be truthful and obedient.

Staats and Tedrick also were cited for conduct unbecoming an officer, while Fuller was cited for violating duties of being a supervisor.

The complaints against the driver were dropped. He was arrested for driving under the influence and with a suspended license, Allen said.

The officers' suspensions run through July 9.
