(Oklahoma City-AP) -- House Speaker Loyd Benson offered a hint of what would be in a new Democratic car tag bill still under construction.

The Frederick Democrat issued a release yesterday that says in their bill is an $85 maximum tag cost with step downs for age of vehicles. It also would eliminate the commercial category -- an area that has been a problem before.

Benson says they are exploring keeping the excise tax stable and charging excise tax on actual price paid. He said that's as opposed to the current artificial formulas and sticker prices.

He says the proposed measure would result in tax savings totaling about $25 million.
