(Oolagah-AP) -- Three men were injured when a plane crashed just short of a runway at a privately-owned airfield in Rogers County 5 miles south of Oologah.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says the single-engine Lake aircraft was attempting to land when the pilot realized he was coming in too fast. The plane clipped a barbed wire fence and then a parked vehicle. It flipped one-half time, coming to rest on its top.
Injured were 63-year-old pilot Kenneth Clark of Tulsa, and passengers 26-year-old Daniel Davis of Tulsa and 74-year-old Tom Kilpatrick of Friday Harbor, Washington.
All three men were transported to Claremore Regional Medical Center. Clark and Kilpatrick were treated and released. Davis is in good condition with head injuries.
The patrol said the Federal Aviation Administration will beinvestigating the cause of the crash.
