(Mesquite, Nevada-AP) -- Oral Roberts University is out front in the Mid-Continent Conference Golf Championship.

Junior Charleton Dechert shot consecutive rounds of 70 yesterday to give O-R-U's golf team the lead on the first day of the championship in Mesquite, Nevada.

The Golden Eagles fired rounds of 291 and 293 at the Oasis Palms Golf Club to lead Youngtown State.

Dechert leads the race for medalist honors by five strokes over Youngstown's Zack Krichbaum.
