DALLAS (AP) -- Oklahoma first baseman Rick Park and Iowa State right-hander Mike Laesch have been named the Big 12's player and pitcher of the week, respectively.
Park was 12-for-20 (.600) in five games last week, all victories. He had three home runs, two doubles and 12 RBIs. He also made just one error in 42 chances at first base.
Laesch threw a four-hitter in a 3-0 victory over Kansas State. It was his second straight complete game and the first ISU shutout against a conference opponent since 1994, when the Cyclones beat Nebraska 2-0. Laesch has given up four earned runs in the past 242/3 innings.
