(Irving, Texas-AP) -- The Dallas Cowboys entered the 2000 N-F-L Draft with a need at cornerback. They came away loaded with them.
After taking Tennessee cornerback Dwayne Goodrich with their first pick yesterday, the Cowboys took more cornerbacks with two of their remaining four picks today.
Dallas drafted West Texas A-and-M's Kareem Larrimore with its second pick, a fourth-rounder, then got Florida State's Mario Edwards two picks later in the sixth round.
It was a quantity-for-quality approach to the cornerback spot: the more Dallas gets, the better chance of finding one that will stick.
Dallas' needs at cornerback were readily apparent.
Deion Sanders, who had been the starter at right corner, is all but out the door and may sign with rival Washington.
