If you need to fill up the gas tank for a weekend getaway, the News on Six has the info on where to find some of the best deals in northeastern Oklahoma.
Gas prices are slowly falling. Since the News on Six began the Gas Gauge reports this week, gas prices have been dropping. Albertson's still has the lowest gas prices in Tulsa. The store at 15th and Lewis just dropped the price to $1.19 a gallon. The same is true for Albertson's located at 51st and Harvard. Git n' Go has also dropped it's price by a few cents to $1.27 a gallon.
However, the real deals are to be found outside of Tulsa. We've received dozens of calls from smaller cities and towns about low gas prices. Littlefield's Country Corner in Bernice is selling gas for $1.23 a gallon.
In Beggs, Smith's Grocery's price is $1.21 a gallon. The Dentonville store outside of town is selling regular unleaded for $1.24 and it's a full service station.
York's One Stop in Muskogee is selling for $1.18 a gallon.
The best deals, though, are to found in Tahlequah. The Log Store on Highway 82 is selling gas at $1.18 a gallon. The lowest price we've found so far is at Love's Station on Downing Street in Tahlequah. They are selling gas for $1.15 a gallon.
