(Oklahoma City-AP) -- A bill that would make it unlawful to sexually proposition a child on the Internet is on Governor Keating's desk.
House Bill 23-49 add computer-generated materials or electronic-medium generated materials to the state's lewd molestation and proposition statutes pertaining to children younger than 16.
Representative Scott Atkins says the bill closes a loophole. Present state law says it is illegal to proposition or make lewd proposals to a child in person or in writing. But it says nothing about use of the Internet.
Those found guilty of violating the proposed law could be imprisoned for one to 20 years.
