COWETA, Okla. (AP) -- Investigators are searching for a motive and suspects in the slaying of a man whose body was found alongside the Muskogee Turnpike.

A truck driver discovered the body of Dennis Kent Goff, 29, facedown in the grass around 5:30 a.m. Monday about five miles north of Coweta, Highway Patrol Trooper Phil Ballard said.

"It appears he was placed here," Ballard said.

An autopsy showed Goff had been shot once in the head, Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation spokeswoman Kym Koch said.
