Although gas prices have dropped a few cents in our area, prices are still well above a dollar a gallon. That's why Consumer Six has launched the gas gauge report.

We're searching for the lowest gas prices in the area and reporting them to you at 10:00 PM, every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

If you want to save on gas, you could fill up your gas tank and then fill up on groceries at Albertson's. Several viewers called and told us about this deal. Albertson's at 51st & Harvard is selling regular unleaded for $1.21 a gallon.

Not all the Albertson's locations in Tulsa are featuring gas quite that low. The station at 15th and Lewis lists its gas price $1.24 a gallon.

A few miles down the road at 18th and Cincinnati, the Super 11 station is selling unleaded regular for $1.27.

And if you're looking for convenience, Quik Trip has dropped its prices a little. Most Q-T stores are selling gas for $1.29 a gallon.

And for those who live in the Tahlequah area, the E-Z Mart on Muskogee Boulevard is selling gas for $1.22 a gallon.

The prices listed above are for regular unleaded gasoline. Premium brands cost more.

But American Automobile Association says most cars don't need expensive gasoline. Check your owner's manual to find out about optimum engine performance.
